Bob Gillespie passed away on Monday evening, February 8, 2021, at his home in Quanah.  He was 65. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Quanah. Dr. David Smith and Mr. Johnny Horton will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday evening at Smith Chapel.

Robert Thomas Gillespie was born June 24, 1955 in Crowell, Texas to J.H. and DeAlva Thomas Gillespie. He graduated from Crowell High School in 1973 and went on to attend Vernon College and Tarleton University. Bob and Kylene Fisher were married November 12, 1983 in Quanah, and together they raised a daughter, Jodi. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Crowell. Bob was a rancher and enjoyed coyote hunting, cowboying and raising cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Kylene Gillespie of Quanah; daughter, Jodi and husband Trey Rusk of Kenna, New Mexico; a brother, James and wife Kathy Gillespie of Matador; sister-in-law Vicky and husband Sammy Don Nicholas of Quanah; nieces, Jaime and husband Denis Mathews of Quanah, Jenny Barker of Quanah, Brenda and Logan Hill of Lubbock, Mabry Barker of Quanah; nephews, Robert and Dawna Gillespie of Lubbock, Mark and Michael Thomas of Crowell, Kyle Duncan and Kason Mathews of Quanah, Henry Barker of Quanah, Calder Gillespie and Jack Hill of Lubbock; and cousins, John and Debra Thomas of Crowell. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Joe Lindsey.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church in his name.
