Roy Leon Quisenberry, died early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017. He was 91.

Leon was born at his family farm, south of Goodlett, on November 8, 1925, to Roger Scott and Laura B. (Castle) Quisenberry. He was a graduate of Goodlett High School in 1943, and entered into service for his country, during World War II, on January 24, 1944.  He completed U.S. Navy Basic Training in San Diego, California and was stationed at Naval Air Station in Honolulu, Hawaii, serving until June 8, 1946.  Leon married Opal Berry on September 19, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Quanah.  He was a farmer for his entire lifetime on the family farm, south of Goodlett.  He also worked as a barber, for 18 years, in Quanah, and worked at Georgia Pacific, in Acme, for 18 years.

Survivors are his wife, Opal Quisenberry, of Quanah; one son, Roy (Jana) Quisenberry, of Quanah; 2 grandsons, Adam (Lindsey) Quisenberry, and Eric (Sarah) Quisenberry, both of College Station;  four great grandchildren, Jordan Rae, Parker Lee, Cooper Lawrence, and Kate Marie Quisenberry, all of College Station;  one sister, LaVern Shannon, of Pueblo, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Earl Wade Quisenberry; one sister, Mary Ballejo; one brother, Teddy Quisenberry; and parents, Scott and Laura B. Quisenberry.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Quanah. Rev. David Smith and Rev. Ron Fox will officiate.  Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
