Russell Glenn Edwards, 53, of Quanah, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, December 3, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Quanah.

Russell was born on March 23, 1971, in Chillicothe, Texas, to Spencer Eugene Leon Edwards and Mildred Lois Blythe Edwards. He was a devoted employee at American Gypsum, where he served as a production foreman and later as a trainer during his remarkable 28-year career.

Known for his many talents, Russell was a skilled builder, woodworker, and welder who took pride in his craft. He loved shooting guns, tending to his yard, and lending a hand to his neighbors, often assisting with plumbing and yard work. His helpful and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Russell is survived by his son, Hunter Edwards, and Hunter's wife, Ashley, of Elk City, Oklahoma; his beloved grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan; his brother, Spencer Edwards, and wife, Christy, of Eldorado, Oklahoma; his sister, Mandy Woods, and husband, Michael, of Quanah; his nieces, Kinsey, Kelsey, Cheyanne, and Savannah; nephews, Luke and Mason; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and his extended work family at American Gypsum. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In honor of Russell's love for his community, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Thompson Sawyer Public Library in Quanah.

Russell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. His legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and dedication will be cherished forever.
