Ruth Patola Hatcher, 96, passed away June 22, 2022 at her residence.  A funeral service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1 ^st , at First Baptist Church in Quanah. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday evening at Smith Funeral Home.

Ruth was born January 19, 1926 to Wiley Odell Gilliam and Thelma Gilliam in Willowview, Texas.  She married Thomas Jackson "Jack" Hatcher on October 7, 1939 in Altus, Oklahoma and together they raised two sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and son, Tommy Hatcher. Survivors include her son, Keith and wife Kathey Hatcher of McDade, Texas; their son, Eric and wife Shine-Ann; and great grandkids Shawn and Sydney Hatcher all of Austin, Texas; grandson, Jason Hatcher; and great grandkids Kaylee and Brayden Hatcher of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness and loving spirit. Special thanks to all of her dear friends in Quanah and treasured relatives.
