Obituary

Ruth McLennan, 95, of Quanah, passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2020 in Vernon. A graveside service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Big Valley Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Quanah with Mr. Albert Motsenbocker officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Friday, January 10th at Smith Funeral Home.

Ruth Yvonne Rogers was born January 1, 1925 in Medicine Mound, Texas to John Welcome and Maud Anna (Ketchersid) Rogers. She graduated from Quanah High School in 1943, where she was a drum major. She later attended Abilene Christian University.  Ruth was married to Gladstone "Mac" McLennan on April 18, 1944, in Quanah, where she lived most of her life.  She was a homemaker, an avid bridge player, and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors are her children: Meredith and Neale Haynes of Shreveport, Louisiana, Anna Kay and Frank Davis of Taos, New Mexico, Roger and Janette McLennan of Vernon, and Denise and Rodney Foster of Quanah; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband "Mac" on March 7, 1991.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Church of Christ, Big Valley Cemetery, or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
