S. J. "Bud" Henderson, 94, passed away Friday, June 19th in Crowell. Per his wishes, he was cremated, and service arrangements are pending at a later date.

Bud was born to Zac Ryall and Johnnie Pearl (McKinney) Henderson on September 4, 1925 in Healdton, Oklahoma. He married Delight Hardin on August 5, 1950.  He attended Texas Tech University, and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.  Bud worked for the Railroad in Quanah until the 1960s, then went on to own and operate Henderson Insurance.

Survivors include his son, Daryl (Kitty) Henderson of Quanah; and daughter, Kim (Buzz) Cooper of Lubbock; Grandchildren: Bonner and Ashley Cooper and Great Grandchildren Brazos and Brooks of College Station; Zane and Kate Henderson of College Station; Leeza Henderson of Austin; Ross Cooper and O'Neal Cooper of Nashville, TN; and Carson Henderson of Quanah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delight Henderson, August 23, 2017.
