Sandra Akers passed away early Wednesday morning, September 1, 2021, in Crowell. There will be a private funeral service, held later this week, with interment at Quanah Memorial Park.

Sandra Sue Donathan was born January 23, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Howard and Naomi Bailey Donathan. She married Randy Akers in 1978. Sandra worked for Farm Bureau for many years; she was a Dispatcher for Hardeman County; and church secretary for First United Methodist Church in Quanah where she was also a member.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Akers; 2 sons, Brian Walser of Wichita Falls, and Dorman Walser of Crowell; 2 daughters, Jana Roland of Quanah, and Randa Betts of Olney; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krissa Walser; and 2 great granddaughters, Leighton and Landrie Mankins.
