Sheridan Youngblood Fuqua passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home in Vernon, TX.

She was born June 20, 1929, a descendent of two pioneer families of Hardeman and Wilbarger Counties Elzy and Mona Sumner Youngblood. She graduated from Vernon High School, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Colorado. She taught school in Oklaunion and Vernon for a number of years. She married Frank Jones Fuqua on November 8, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Fuqua was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Delta Delta Delta, and P.E.O.

She is survived by a son, James Jones Fuqua, and his four children, Summer, Cisco, Avery and Reason; a daughter, Stacy, and her husband, Wayne Lynn.

She will lie in state at Sullivan Funeral Home Sunday March 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm then she will lie in state at Smith Funeral Home in Quanah, TX. Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 am to 8:00 pm then on day of service Tuesday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Lazy U Family Ranch Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
