Stevie Marsalis, 72, of Abilene State School passed away Wednesday, February 22 ^nd , 2023.

He was born in Quanah, TX to Elton Bryan and Bobbie LaRue Marsalis (Leonard). Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Ann and Sidney Nelson, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Keith and Charlotte Marsalis (Brooks), and nieces Selinda Gail Vanous and Pamela Denise Marsalis.

Stevie resided at Abilene State School since 1961 and was a lifelong avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  He worked for many years at the Abilene State School laundry, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  Stevie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play jokes on his friends and family members.

Stevie is survived by his nephews, Rick Nelson (Karon), Mark Nelson (Nycel), niece LaNita Frost (Michael), and many great nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3 ^rd , 2023 at Quanah Memorial Park.  The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home.
