Stevie Don Morton, 74, passed away Friday evening, September 18, 2026, in Vernon, Texas. He was born August 15, 1952, in Quanah, Texas, to the late Don Morton and LaVerne Templeton Morton.

Stevie married Debra Beebe on March 21, 1976, in Electra, Texas. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years before retiring in 2012.

Stevie loved animals and enjoyed duck and dove hunting. He was a member of Quanah Masonic Lodge, where he served as past Master, as well as a member of the Knights Templar and Shriners.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Morton of Quanah; daughter, Nicole Morton of Vernon; son, Jacob Morton of Medicine Mound; three grandchildren, Daniel Raylan Coleman, Evelyn Coleman, and Arya Coleman; brother, Dee Morton of Quanah; sister, Susan Butler of Childress; brother-in-law, Billy Don Green of Quanah; and sister-in-law, Janice Carter of Electra.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Morton, and sister, Dot Green.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Goodlett Reformed Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Quanah Memorial Park.

Stevie will be remembered and cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
