Sue Tabor, 80, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26th, at the Church of Christ in Quanah. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Quanah.

Sue was born on April 1, 1945, in Quanah, Texas, to James Wiley "Toots" and Mildred Inez Wilson Tabor. Throughout her life, Sue dedicated herself to serving others in the field of education. For over 33 years, she taught at numerous Texas schools as a special education teacher, focusing primarily on students with dyslexia. Her passion for helping others overcome challenges in their learning was evident in every student she touched, and she leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals.

Sue was an active member of the Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. She was also deeply involved in the community, holding memberships in several organizations, including service in the Junior League of Wichita Falls, Quanah Alumni Association Board, Women's League of Democratic Voters, the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and the Backdoor Gardeners. Her social and vibrant personality made her a beloved figure in Wichita Falls, where she lived an engaged and fulfilling life.

She is survived by her brother, Wiley Tabor and his wife, Peggy, of Quanah; her nieces and nephews, Ty Tabor and Marsha of Krum, Tamara Tabor and Dane of Amarillo, Tosha Marquardt and Jerome of Beaufort, North Carolina, Ashleigh Fox and Chad of The Woodlands, and Megan Fisher and Michael Chavez of Vernon; as well as several great nieces and nephews, including Zac Tabor and Niya of Canyon, Quinten Tabor of Krum, and Preston Tabor of Paris, Texas, Parker Elliott of Beaufort, North Carolina, Alexandra Lorenzo and Will of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Maxwell, Hadley and Hudson Fox of The Woodlands, and Reese and Rance Fisher of Vernon, Texas.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Mary Ellen Adams.
