Susie Leija passed away Friday morning, September 1, 2023, at the age of 77. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6th, at Bethel Baptist in Quanah.

Susie was born June 20, 1946, in Windsor, Colorado to Abe Perea and Isabel Cordova Perea. Susie loved her family and attending sporting events. She enjoyed puzzles and word searches, socializing, and going out to eat.

Survivors include her children, Machelle Leija Perez of Quanah, Mack Leija of North Carolina, Mark Leija of Quanah, Mike Leija of Vernon, Max Leija of Roscoe; sisters, Carmen Salazar, Louise Perea, Sarah Perea, Toni Corralez; brothers, Frank Perea, Jerry Perea, Larry Perea; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Martin "Abe" Leija, III; daughter, Marty Sue Leija; and sister, Trudy Perea.
