Obituary

Thomas C. "Tommy" O'Daniel passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2019, in Quanah. He was 69.

Thomas Claude O'Daniel was born November 21, 1949 in Childress, Texas to Billy Don and Virgie (Raper) O'Daniel.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict from 1969-1971. He worked in the motor pool and was on the frontlines in hostile conditions, where he assisted in med-evac of the wounded.

He met Kim Luong in Vietnam, and they were married there on July 12, 1970. Later, they became the parents to 3 children; 1 son, and 2 daughters.

Tommy was a self-employed tractor mechanic, and worked for Big Green Farm Supply for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed helping 4-H members with skeet shooting, and working at the Ag Barn helping kids with their animals.

Survivors include his wife, Kim, of Quanah; a son, Thomas Kent "T.K." O'Daniel of Quanah; 2 daughters, Kimberly O'Daniel Goodloe of Lubbock, and Belinda O'Daniel Schilhab of Houston, Texas; 3 sisters, Barbara Holland of Hedley, Texas; Beverly Rose of Amarillo, Texas; and Brenda Browning of Turkey, Texas.

The family suggests that memorials be made to your favorite veteran's organization.

The family will also receive visitors at 1110 E. 7th St. in Quanah.
