Troy "Loarn" Freeman passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.
A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Eldorado Cemetery.
Loarn was born November 15, 1937, in Eldorado, Oklahoma, to Elmer Troy Freeman and Lena Mae (Nelley) Freeman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of E-4 during the early 1960s.
Loarn was the owner and operator of Freeman's Jewelry Store, where he was known for his craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. He was a longtime member of the Watchmaker's Institute.
He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.
He married Elberta Lucille Thorp, who preceded him in death in 2010. He later married Virginia Sue Freeman, who survives him.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Sue Freeman of Vernon; five grandsons, Chris Davis of Iola, Kansas; Shannon Davis of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Kevin Davis of Moran, Kansas; Scott Davis of San Diego, California; and Terry Elam.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Davis.
