Veda Walkup passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at her home in Quanah. She was 64. There will be a Celebration of Life held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Pease River Cowboy Church in Goodlett.

Veda Lynn Everson was born on February 26, 1955 in Crowell, Texas, to Dayton Marvin and Veda Mae (Eavenson) Everson. She married Billy Walkup on May 19, 1973 in Crowell, and together they raised two children. Veda was the office manager for Family Medical in Quanah for 32 years.  During that time, she received certification in many health care related areas, which included being a mastectomy prosthetic fitter.   She was a member of Pease River Cowboy Church, the Quanah Country Club, and the Ladies Golf Association.  She was also a past 4-H Adult Leader.  Veda loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed stock shows, playing golf, and riding horses.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Walkup of the home; son, Shawn Walkup, and wife Darla, of Quanah; daughter, Sheryl Dunn, and husband Monty, of Childress; 4 grandchildren, William Troyer, Sheyenne and Isaiah Dunn, and Chase Walkup; 1 great grandchild on the way; 2 brothers, Larry Everson, and wife Diane, and Ike Everson, and wife Janis, both of Crowell; sister, LaNell Cameron, and husband Jim, of Vernon.

In addition to her parents, Veda was preceded in death by 2 nephews, Richie Kubicek, and Ryan Everson.
