Wayne Greening, 92, of Quanah, died Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Wayne was born November 11, 1925 in Crowell, Texas, to Henry and Vaneta (Vaught) Greening.  He graduated from Crowell High School and spent time in the United States Navy during World War II.  On May 29, 1948, he married Virginia Musgrove in Vernon, Texas.  Together, they raised two children.  Virginia preceded him in death on August 29, 1996.  On May 15, 1999, Wayne and Mildred "Millie" Burnett were married in Quanah.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Gideon.  He was a farmer and rancher, and had retired from Georgia Pacific after many years of employment.  Wayne enjoyed wood working and welding.

Survivors include his wife, Millie Greening, of Quanah; a daughter, Ann Kirksey, of Azle, Texas;  two sisters, Winifred Powers of Vernon, Texas, and JoAnn Daniel of Truscott, Texas;  two granddaughters, Jennifer Edwards, of Quanah, and Jill Roberts, of Lake Worth; one grandson, Josh Burnett;  5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.

Wayne was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Greening, on June 17, 2014.

There will be a graveside service at Crowell Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, with Rev. David Smith officiating.  Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Gideon International, P.O. Box 106, Vernon, Texas.
