William Dalton (Skip) Richardson, III, was born January 19, 1954 in Oklahoma City to William Dalton (Jim) Richardson, Jr. and Helen Irene Salley.

He grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma, and Lubbock, Texas, graduating from Monterey High School, in Lubbock, in 1972.

Skip married Sonya Dickerson on May 20, 1988 in Vernon, Texas. Together, with daughters Julie and Jordon, they were an instant family.

He retired, in December 2016, from United Supermarket with 30 years of service. He also retired from North Texas State Hospital in December 2016.

Skip was diagnosed with advanced liposarcoma in March 2017. He fought  with dignity, strength, and courage.  He lost his battle on February 17, 2018 in the Hospice of Wichita Falls Inpatient Center.

He is survived by his wife, Sonya; daughters, Julie Gresham (Jeff) and Jordon Conley (Clay); grandchildren, Ella Belle Conley and Skyler Gresham; sister, Debra Adams (John) of Waurika, Oklahoma; brother, Ricky (Susan) Richardson of Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother, Michael Richardson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 19, 2018, at the Church of Christ in Quanah. Albert Motsenbocker will officiate.  Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018.
