William Rodger Tabor, 87, of Quanah, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Quanah Church of Christ. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00–7:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Rodger was born June 23, 1938, in Hardeman County to Vilas "Cap" and Virginia "Lois" (Foster) Tabor. He graduated from West Texas State University and married Patricia Sikes on February 10, 1968, in Tahoka, Texas.

A lifelong farmer and rancher, Rodger worked the land with pride and dedication. He believed deeply in the value of hard work and in leaving things better than he found them. His accomplishments include being named Conservation Farmer of the Year in 1990, serving as a board member of Hardeman County Co-Op, a part owner in Quanah Grain Co., Inc., and an area committee member of Farmers Home Administration for five years. He also served as Hardeman County Commissioner for 14 years, where he worked to improve roads, infrastructure, and community resources. His steady leadership and commitment to fairness earned him the respect of those he served.

Rodger's legacy is one of faith, family, and service. He was a devoted member of the Quanah Church of Christ and lived his life by example, showing kindness and integrity to others. He loved supporting local events, mentoring younger generations of farmers, and lending a helping hand whenever needed.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Tabor of Quanah; two daughters, Shannon Sullivan and husband Bo of Boyd, Texas, and Angie Andrews and husband Chris of Quanah; grandchildren, Mackenzie Whitaker and husband Casey, Madison Andrews, Morgan Andrews, Kylee Sullivan, and J.T. Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Rowdy and Knox Whitaker; his brother, Melvin Tabor and wife Marsha of Salt Lake City, Utah; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ann Sparkman.
